Time for a CHALLENGE!

You may remember me blogging about the fact that I'm trying to read 50 books in 2009. This is a challenge that was brought forth by the online book club that I frequent. We all set our own goal based on our free time, etc. So far, I'm doing really well with this challenge. It's June, and I've read 29 books so far.

Well, the girls in my book club have been doing seasonal challenges, as well. I didn't participate in them for various reasons. Well, they are starting a new challenge tomorrow, and I've decided to take place in it this time. This challenge is simply called the "Summer Book Challenge (abbreviated SuBC)." A group of the members have come up with 5, 10, 15, and 25 point challenges. We are supposed to find a book that fits into each category and read that book. The challenge lasts until September 30th. The first 5 people in the book club to finish and gain all of the points get to choose the 25 point tasks for the next challenge. I'm really excited about this. I think it will motivate me to get some of the books on my TBR (to be read) pile finished. I also think it will help me meet my goal of 50 books very quickly. If I meet the 50, I may shoot for 75.

If you're interested in looking at the challenges, please look at this blog: The Book Club Challenge

The 25 point challenges haven't been added yet. If you have any ideas for me as to what to read, just let me know. I'm happy to take suggestions!

Do you like to read?

I do! Okay, you probably already knew that about me. I have probably posted about this before, but I've gained a few readers since then. I'm part of an online book club, and one of the ways that we've found to keep track of the books we've read is Goodreads. If you're like me, you have a ton of books that you own but haven't read, or you just need a great way to keep track of books. This is the way to do it!

Goodreads allows you to add the books that you've read, as well as the books you want to read. You can organize them into different shelves to keep track. You can also add friends and see what they are reading. This is one of the ways that I've found many of the books on my "to read" shelf. Another great thing: book giveaways. I haven't personally won any, but alot of the girls in my online book club have.

If you'd like to join, please do: it's FREE! If you'd like to add me as a friend on there, my name is rustysgirl. If you click HERE, you will be taken straight to my page. I really hope that you enjoy Goodreads, and find lots of great books. Happy reading!

Oh and if you have any questions about using the Goodreads site, or questions about books in general, let me know. I'm happy to help!
